Welcome to Dahlias and Dimes!

About the Blog

I’m Diana, one of the co-creators/authors of our virtual home and also the dreamer/maker of our actual home. This is the place where Patrick, my super smart and handy husband, and I share our life happenings – design ideas, DIY projects, budgeting tips, and things we’ve learned while making our house a home.

We bought our first home, a quaint 80’s brick ranch, in 2014 with big dreams and a small budget. In the last three years, we’ve learned heaps of tips and tricks along the way to creating an inviting home filled with things that bring us joy all while satisfying my fugal heart. We’re now onto our second home in the hills of our home state of Tennessee. While I have the creative aspirations of designing and decorating every square inch of our home, Patrick has the tight budgeting skills and practical smarts to make my plans a reality. We will be sharing both sides of our feats and failures in the designing and budgeting of our past projects and projects to come.

About Us

Patrick and I met in college in Tennessee in 2009, married in June 2012, and called the Upstate of South Carolina home for the next 5 1/2 years. We’re now back in our home state renovating our second home. We welcomed our first baby, Olive, in May. You can read about her arrival here. We are followers of Christ and love spending time with our friends and family and hosting them in the home we are truly blessed to have. Patrick and I enjoy seeing new places, staying active, and plotting our next adventures.
